The Beautiful Tokyo Skytree

The Tokyo Skytree in Japan is probably one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. It has replaced the Tokyo tower in some ways, but they both continue to be popular tourist destinations. It has an excellent viewing at night, as well as in the day, and features LED illuminating lights at night to dress up the tower. The tower features seismic proofing as well which is a nice security measure to make visitors feel more comfortable. For those looking for a good place to view the city of Tokyo, the Tokyo Skytree is the perfect place to do it.

Tokyo Skytree actually has a variety of things you can do at the base of the tower. They have an aquarium, planetarium, various restaurants and shops. After paying a small entrance fee, you can enter the actual tower and make your way to the speedy elevators to go up and enjoy the view. Although the primary use for the tower is as a broadcasting tower and as a lookout point, tourists can also enjoy the restaurant and cafe within the tower, as well as a little shop. On foggy days, the tower offers a VR visual panoramic view to compensate not being able to actually see the view below.

Observation decks

Tokyo Skytree has two observation decks that are both accessible to the public. One of the decks is at 350 meters up, and the other is at 450 meters up. Each deck features different shaped windows, providing a slightly different view. On Floor 340, they also feature a glass floor for those who are feeling a little bit more bold.

Food

Within the tower, there are two places where you can get refreshments or something to eat. The Skytree cafe is located on Floor 340 where the glass floor is located. It features all the basic things you might find at a cafe including, sweets and desserts, but also offers curry, sandwiches, wine and beer. There is another cafe on Floor 350, but this cafe features a different selection of foods. They offer soft-serve ice cream and interesting vinegar drinks as well as regular drinks. They also only serve beer as their alcoholic beverage.

Sky Restaurant 634 is located on Floor 345 and features "Tokyo cuisine." You can enjoy delicious and fancy courses or a fancy teppan course menu all while enjoying the spectacular view. This restaurant is by reservation only, so be sure to call in advance.

Shops

The Skytree tower also has three shops located on 1F Group floor, 5F exit, and Floor 345. The shops offer snacks, knick-knacks, and stationary goods. Depending on the floor, the goods within differ a little. Floor 345 is designated the official Tokyo Skytree shop and contains limited edition souvenirs, some of which are unavailable to the other shops.

Commemorative Photo Opportunities

On Floor 340, 350, and 445, there are also photo taking stations where you can get your photo taken to have as a commemorative photo of your trip to Tokyo Skytree. There is a fee, but it is a nice experience for those who really enjoyed their Skytree visit.
