Two Gardens

Ten-ju an is a subtemple of Nanzen-ji Temple that was built in the early 14th century. It is most famous for its autumn leaf viewing and its two Japanese gardens- the Hojo Front Garden and the Shoin South Garden. The Hojo Garden is a traditional Japanese dry landscape garden that uses stones and sand to mimic a river. The Shoin Garden is a strolling garden with paths surroudning a pond. There are also light ups in autumn.
