Modern Art and Architecture

The National Museum of Art, Osaka, or NMAO, was designed by architect Arata Isozaki. The design of the building is highly modern and is represents the growth of bamboo. It is a subterranean museum focusing on post-war and modern works, and is worth a visit for the interesting building as well as the famous art from Japanese and foreign artists. The current building was opened in 2007.
