Osaka's Newest Addition
Osaka Bay continues to develop as Osaka's urban jungle continues to expand. Now, it's home to shopping and dinining facilities, observatories, Mt. Tempozan (Japan's smallest mountain, standing at about 4.5 meters above sea level) a Ferris wheel, The Osaka Aquarium, Kaiyukan, and Universal Studios Japan®.
Tempozan Harbor Village boasts Kaiyukan, Osaka's aquarium with over 30,000 sea creatures, the Ferris wheel, and Tempozan Marketplace, a mall with a good variety of shops and restaurants. Mt. Tempozan has also been developed into a small park with lots of green space and benches to enjoy the ocean breeze outdoors.
Universal Studios Japan® is across the river from Mt. Tempozan. In July 2014, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened, drawing more visitors than ever.
Sakishima Island, another part of the Osaka Bay area, is the location of the Asia Pacific Trade Center, and has an outlet mall. The observation deck of the Sakishima Building draws a lot of visitors for its amazing views of the Osaka Bay area and the Osaka skyline.
