The Philosophers Path is located at the base of Mount Higashiyama and runs for two kilometers from the Silver Pavillion, Ginkakuji, to Wakaoji Shrine. The path is along a canal with hundreds of cherry trees planted there. There are many famous temples on this walk, including Honen0in, Reikanji, and Eikan-do. The path is said to be one devoted to meditation and contemplation.
