Osaka's Biggest Market

The Kuromon Market, or Black Gate Market, is almost 600 meters long with over 150 shops specializing in fresh food.

The market has been around since the Meiji Era, and it caters to professional chefs and restaurants as well as the general public. Many of the shops have been family owned for generations. In addition to fresh foods there are also restaurants and stalls serving prepared food.

Kuromon Market is a great place to go to experience the hustle and bustle of Osaka and to try new food! One of the market specialities is tako tamago, or a baby octopus stuffed with a quail egg.
