1. Garo Falls
Garo Falls is located in Hokkaido and is their largest waterfall. Nicknamed "The Flying Dragon," it is 70 meters tall and relatively wide, and is a worthwhile place to visit in Hokkaido if you love waterfalls.
2. Ryusei-Ginga Waterfalls
The Ryusei-Ginga Waterfalls are two waterfalls, the Ryusei no Taki and Ginga no Taki that are adjacent each other. Despite the close proximity, the two waterfalls differ in appearance, one of them being spindly and one looking like falling stars. They are located in Hokkaido in Daisetsuzan National Park and are a beautiful sight to behold.
3. Oshinkoshin Falls
Also located in Hokkaido, the Oshinkoshin Falls is a wide waterfall that fans out over a slanting rock-face. It's a nice, easily accessible little spot for those who enjoy looking the look of rushing water.
4. Akiu Great Falls
Akiu Great Falls can be found in the Miyagi prefecture and is said to be one of Japans most beautiful waterfalls. It is especially beautiful in the autumn when the surrounding trees turn orange and red and bring a whole new level of beauty to the waterfall.
5. Nachi Falls
Nachi falls, located in the Wakayama prefecture, is one of the most popular waterfalls in Japan. It is well-known due to the fact that it is Japan's tallest, single, uninterrupted drop waterfall and is located by Seigantoji temple. It is a worthwhile visit as there is plenty of other things to see while enjoying the view of the waterfall.
6. Kegon Falls
Found in the Tochigi prefecture, Kegon Falls is a part of Nikko National Park. It has the look of a classic waterfall and is against a mountain rock-face. This waterfall is a popular tourist destination and it is easy to see why.
7. Fukuroda Falls
Fukuroda Falls is another popular waterfall to visit, especially in autumn. The multi-step waterfall runs 73 meters in width and resembles long white strands of hair flowing down a rocks. It a pleasant view for those who enjoy waterfalls.
8. Ryuzu Falls
Another spectacular waterfall of the Tochigi prefecture, Ryuzu falls in also known as the "dragon head waterfall." Like a few of the aforementioned falls, this waterfall is lovely to look at in the autumn time because the surrounding vegetation turns bright orange, yellow, and red. The waterfall falls into a lake, and it seems like it creates the perfect spot to refresh your mind and clear your thoughts.
9. Nabegataki Falls
Nabegataki Falls is one of the more unique looking waterfalls on this list. It pours over a small, rock overhang and creates a little cave on the opposite side of it. That said opposite side is accessible and many who visit it enjoy being able to go behind the fall. It is an ideal looking waterfall, and a must go destination if you're in the Kumamoto prefecture.
10. Shiraito Falls
Shiraito is another mesmerizing waterfall surrounded by a sea of green trees. The pool of water that the waterfall falls into is a mermaid blue, causing the area to look like a picturesque storybook setting. It is located by Mount Fuji in the Shizuoka prefecture, and is a pit-stop that you have to stop by for the love of waterfalls!
