Henn na Cafe: An interesting addition
We've introduced you all to our Henn na Hotel, the first-ever robot staffed hotel, but we now would like to all announce the opening of our Henn na Cafe! The Henn na Cafe opened February 2, 2018 in Shinuya, and is the latest addition to the HIS "Henn na..." family! The cafe's main attraction is the robot "Sawyer" that makes and serves up some brewed coffee to customers. The brewed coffee is only approximately $3USD - to be able to see a robot serve up coffee, that's a bargain! In addition to that, there is another machine, "Poursteady", that makes lattes, cappucinos, and hot chocolate, as well as other beverages usually found in a cafe.
Customers simply select their drink of choice and bring the corresponding QR code to the robot. The robot will then scan it and prepare the requested drink.
The cafe is a fun and unique way to get your coffee, and it's worth checking out if you're headed to Japan.
Aside from the Henn na Cafe, there are fifteen different Henn na Hotels open in Japan. The Huis Ten Bosch location in Nagasaki was the first-ever robot staffed hotel, followed by the others. As of currently, eight of the hotels are in Tokyo, while the Laguna Ten Bosch is located in Aichi and the original is in Nagasaki. There is one in Kyoto and Fukuoka as well as some in Osaka, and perhaps a few more will be on the horizon. Henn na Hotel hopes to strive for better and newer technology and concepts with each location. And with that, there is now the Henn na Cafe, a wonderful addition to our robot staff services!
It is the hope that these hotels and café can bring some enjoyment and a sense of wonder to each person, and inspire a hope for a more advanced future where technology can be further used for efficiency, convenience, and a better functioning services. <3
