Take a break from your travels to recharge with these cute snacks!

As summer approaches, Tokyo grows hotter.

Those traveling around Tokyo this season might become tired from all the heat!

Today I've outlined a variety of cute (and delicious!) Japanese sweets available in and around the Tokyo area!

There are numerous cute desserts in Tokyo, some of which look too cute to eat.

To cool off, my best suggestion is to find a cute dessert you can enjoy in an air-conditioned cafe, or find some soft-serve or kakigori (shaved ice) to enjoy under a tree or out of the direct sunlight. Cooling off with a dessert in the summer time heat feels like paradise to me!

Some shops sell petit cakes!

These are SO irresistible - they make me forget all about my diet!

Pictured above is a sakura flavored cake with a real pickled sakura bud on top. It has a very unique and amazing taste.

Speaking of cakes, above are some delicious pancakes I found.

This combination of fresh berries and fluffy cake made for the perfect juxtaposing taste.

Above is an oven baked apple filled with ice cream.

Above is a cute panda-shaped pudding! This thing tastes just as good as it looks.

Crepes are probably the most popular dessert in Tokyo. The crepes are prepared right in front of you after you choose from a variety of toppings with which to fill the crepe!

Sweet and cute desserts might be good, but kakigori (shaved ice) is the best for summertime.

When you order kakigori in japan you can choose from many different flavored syrups! This will definitely provide some relief from the sweltering heat.

Pictured above is rainbow flavored kakigori.

Nowadays you can find kakigori in so many different flavors, and you can even top them with various fruits or candy! I personally think that simpler kakigori is the best.

Next are parfaits!

There are many types of parfaits but my favorite is mango parfait.

Fresh mango with ice cream, pudding, and mango sauce.

You can even add a traditional Japanese matcha or black sesame topping to your parfait!

Strong matcha ice-cream and matcha flavored chocolate are very authentic Japanese desserts.

Black sesame parfait is also very delicious and healthy!

This is a traditional Japanese desserts called "anmitsu"! It is made with red beans, ice, and fruit. It tastes great served with matcha tea too!

I highly recommend soft-serve to cool off in the Tokyo heat.

In Japan you can find soft serve in many different flavors - some of which are vanilla and sakura.

There are also a variety of frozen yogurt stores!

Some shops will allow you to select different toppings to accompany the soft-serve or frozen yogurt.

I loved making my own original tasting dessert.

Finally, this is an ice bar selling elaborately decorated ice cream bars. They look just like cakes!

I hope you find too can find some delicious desserts in Japan while managing to cool off from the summer heat!
