Yokohama's Symbolic "Yokohama Three Towers"
It is said that your wish will come true if you visit the spots where you can see the three historical buildings towering gracefully over the beautiful port city at once in the " Yokohama Three Towers Story(PDF)". It is said that a foreign sailor who entered Yokohama Port at the time gave these towers nicknames based on playing card suits.
The Kanagawa Prefectural Government's Office, with a beautiful blend of Japanese aesthetics in a Western style architecture and the Teikan style, is known as "King." The Yokohama Customs, with its exotic and elegant bluegreen dome, is often referred to as the symbol of Yokohama Port and is the "Queen". And the Yokohama City Port Opening Memorial Hall, with its retro red brick exterior and unique stained glass, is known as "Jack".
While enjoying the history and charm of Yokohama, why not visit the "Akarenga Park," "Nihon Odori," and "Osanbashi" to see these three towers at once and make a wish?

What to try: Beef Hot Pot
Try experiencing the history of Yokohama Port, the gateway to Western culture, through "food"!
Since its opening to the world, Yokohama has incorporated Western meat-eating culture. Beef was unfamiliar to most in Japan at first, but “Gyu-nabe (Beef Hot Pot)”, which stewed beef with soy sauce and miso to match Japanese palates, later became extremely popular.
The beef hot pot restaurant Janomeya was established in 1893 in Isezakicho, a lively entertainment district with many theaters.
Come enjoy the taste that has been protected for over 130 years with a commitment to ingredients and techniques, within an unchanged atmosphere reminiscent of the past.
