The Kenrokuen Yukitsuri may just be one of the most famous yukitsuris and it's easy to see why. Yukitsuri is a practice in which rope suspenders are erected from bamboo poles and are attached to tree branches in an effort to protect the trees from the heavy weigh of the snow. What results is a type of art that is both functional and pretty to look at. The shape of the suspenders also create a beautiful winter scene that is complete with lamps that light up the trees and a perfect snowy backdrop.
