The Akeno Sunflower Fields are part of the Hokuto City Akeno Sunflower Festival held every year. Found in the Yamanashi Prefecture, it is a close distance from Tokyo, and fairly easy to get to by train if you would like a break from the city and instead be surrounded by a field of bright, sunny flowers.
The Akeno Sunflower Festival happens every summer in Hokuto City of Yamanashi. Visitors can enjoy sunflower(himawari) flavored soft serve topped with sunflower seeds while enjoying as much as 600,000 sunflowers spread out in a field as far and wide as the eye can see.
