The Biden administration has announced that as of May 12th, the Covid-19 vaccine requirements for international travelers will end. For more details, visit the website of the White House.
4/28/2023 UPDATE:
As of April 29th, Japan's border control measures no longer requires vaccination certificates and PCR tests taken within 72 hours of departure.
However, Visit Japan Web registration is still recommended as it can make immigration clearance, the customs and duty-free process more convenient.
※Those entering Japan with symptoms of suspected COVID-19 infection will be tested upon arrival. Furthermore, those who test positive will be required to quarantine at a designated facility.
